Zero, zilch, zip, nada, nothing

That is the number of tax cases heard by the High Court of Australia in 2023.

There are two loose exceptions.

• The first relates to the now infamous attempt by the Victorian Government to impose taxes on electric cars, deemed unconstitutional in Vanderstock v Victoria.

• The second relates to Commonwealth-State intergovernmental arrangements and the Constitution in Hornsby Shire Council v Commonwealth of Australia.
